Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) has launched Platform and Nominee Services on its Integrated Fund Platform (IFP).
These services add master distribution, nominee and administrative functions to the business-to-business platform.
The launch follows the Fund Repository in December 2024 and the Order Routing Service in July 2025.
Together, these components connect distributors, fund managers, transfer agents and other participants through standardised workflows and information exchange.
According to HKEX, the new services are intended to address fragmentation in the fund distribution market by providing a more streamlined operating framework.
Its stated aim is to improve efficiency in onboarding, order processing, settlement, payments, reconciliation and reporting.
On the operational side, the services support the holding and administration of fund units and shares.
They are also designed to streamline cash flows for payment and settlement while simplifying reconciliation and reporting.

“By centralising fund distribution workflows, the platform aims to enhance operational efficiency, transparency and scalability across the fund ecosystem while reducing costs,”
said Richard Leung, Group Chief Information Officer at HKEX.
When the Order Routing Service went live, the IFP had an initial cohort of 33 participants.
Today, more than 60 distributors, fund houses and transfer agents take part. The full list is on the HKEX website.
HKEX developed the IFP in close collaboration with the HKSAR Government, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and industry stakeholders.
The platform supports Hong Kong’s efforts to strengthen its fund distribution sector and enhance its competitiveness as a regional and global wealth management hub.
