by November 2, 2023

The Hong Kong Fintech Week will shine a spotlight on the future of fintech through six key themes, including Web 3.0, AI, and emerging frontiers. The conference will be held on 2-3 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.

One of the highlights of the conference was the panel discussion on how Web 3.0 is impacting culture. The panel featured Sebastien Borget, Co-Founder & COO of The Sandbox; Arnoldo Concepcion, Co-Chief Operating Officer of Animoca Brands; Cameron Kates, Chief Legal Officer of Yuga Labs; and Harry Liu, CEO of Forj Netwok.

The conference will also feature captivating metaverse experiences that showcase cutting-edge technologies through immersive and educational engagements.

The Sandbox, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, will focus on User Generated Content (UGC). With a significant user base in Asia, The Sandbox has chosen Hong Kong as the location for its first international Creators’ Day event.

The team will make three important announcements to empower creators and share their vision of a more participatory, engaging, and rewarding form of entertainment.

The aim is to celebrate creativity and possibility in the metaverse and inspire creators across various sectors.

The Sandbox team believes that by embracing UGC and digital ownership, Hong Kong creators will play a vital role in bringing the next billion users into the metaverse.

“The success of Web 3.0 depends on mass adoption of blockchain technology so that Hong Kong’s Fintech Week will continue to thrive 10 years and more into the future.

The most popular use of Web 3.0 today is in blockchain games such as The Sandbox and Phantom Galaxies – but the trend that is driving popular enthusiasm across Asia is the growth of User Generated Content!”

said Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-Founder of The Sandbox.
