Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) will introduce 12 new stock futures contracts on 18 January 2027.
The new contracts will complement some of its most actively traded stock option classes.
The first six stocks covered are MiniMax (100), Lenovo Group (992), Hua Hong Grace (1347), China Hongqiao (1378), Innovent Bio (1801) and Zijin Gold International (2259).
The other six are WuXi AppTec (2359), Z.AI (2513), ZJ Innolight (3308), CATL (3750), YOFC (6869) and Pop Mart (9992).
HKEX will also waive the Commission Levy on these contracts for their first six months of trading.
Each contract equals one board lot of its stock, so sizes range from 20 shares for MiniMax to 2,000 shares for Lenovo Group.
Hua Hong Grace contracts cover 1,000 shares, while those for China Hongqiao, Innovent Bio and YOFC cover 500 shares each. Pop Mart contracts are smaller, at 200 shares each.
Contracts for Zijin Gold International, WuXi AppTec, Z.AI and CATL each cover 100 shares. At 50 shares per contract, ZJ Innolight has the smallest size of the group.
On 18 January, traders will be able to choose from five contract months. These are January, February, March, June and September 2027.
HKEX said the new contracts widen the range of derivatives on these stocks and give investors more choice.
They also give market users more flexibility to trade and manage risk.
Full details are set out in a circular the exchange issued.
