ZA International, digital insurer founded by ZhongAn Online, announced the launch of its “Free Post-Vaccination Protection” as a part of its ZA Relief Fund worth HK$ 6 million established in February 2020 to offer its customers support amidst the pandemic.
This is available to all its new and existing customers who are Hong Kong residents holding a valid identity card free of charge.
Under the scheme, ZA customers will receive a daily cash grant of HKD 800 for up to 10 days if they are hospitalised within 14 days after getting the vaccine provided by the HKSAR government, and a one-off HKD 200,000 benefit in the unfortunate event of death caused by the side effects.
The first batch of coronavirus vaccine is expected to arrive in Hong Kong this month at the earliest.
Wayne Xu, President of ZA International said:
“While the release of coronavirus vaccines is an encouraging breakthrough in this long fight against Covid-19, the potential side effects have left some people skeptical about vaccination. We hope to ease such vaccine hesitancy among ZA Fam members through the scheme, which would cover the financial loss from hospitalisation or death. This is our commitment to not only our ‘family members’ ZA Fam, but also the wider society as we all come together to combat the pandemic.”
ZA Relief Fund is available to eligible applicants until 30 June 2021 on a first-come-first-served basis.
Both ZA Relief Fund and Free Post-Vaccination Protection are subject to terms and conditions.
