Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) and ShopBack, one of Asia-Pacific’s leading shopping, rewards and payments platforms, have announced the launch of the Fubon iN ShopBack Visa Platinum Card, combining merchant cashback, card cashback and platform rewards within a single transaction.
For merchants, it provides an ongoing a customer acquisition channel built on long-term commercial arrangements rather than short-term promotional campaigns.
As AI-powered price comparison and rewards tools become increasingly accessible, Hong Kong consumers are paying closer attention to the value they receive from every purchase, making reward comparisons an increasingly common part of the spending journey.
What they want is not complex terms, but cashback that is clear, immediate and predictable. The co-branded card was therefore designed around a simple principle: making rewards visible.
A three-layer reward structure
Layer one – Standing.
ShopBack works with merchants through long-term commercial partnerships, allowing merchant cashback offers to remain continuously available and be passed directly to users. Whenever users shop through ShopBack, they can earn cashback without having to wait for a promotional period.
Layer two – Stacked.
After linking their Fubon iN ShopBack Card to their ShopBack account, users can enjoy up to 8% cash rebate on eligible online spending (including eligible online purchases outside ShopBack), together with up to 1% additional ShopBack cashback on top of merchant cashback. This creates the opportunity to earn multiple layers of rewards from a single transaction.
Layer three – Rhythm.

“On the 28th day of every month, users can participate in ‘Fubon iN Day’, where selected merchants offer up to 28% cashback, subject to applicable terms, conditions, quotas and spending caps. It provides users with a memorable and highly anticipated monthly rewards day.
“Our merchant cashback is not a campaign. It is a long-term commercial arrangement. That is why users don’t need to wait for promotional periods,”
said Cahill Kei, Head of Commercial, Hong Kong and Taiwan, ShopBack.
What this means for merchants
ShopBack’s role within the partnership is to connect spending occasions with meaningful rewards. Through a network of more than 600 participating merchants, the co-branded card covers a wide range of everyday spending scenarios, while providing merchant with access to an active and engaged customer base.
This cross-category design creates an important effect: customer traffic flows both ways. Rewards earned in one spending scenario can naturally flow into another.
For users, cashback is cash, and can be spent wherever they choose. For merchants, this means access to customer segments that may otherwise be difficult to reach, while creating an opportunity to convert individual transactions into stronger customer lifetime value.
ShopBack is not limited to a single industry. From Shop to Earn and Play to Earn experiences to travel and other lifestyle categories, users can earn rewards by completing actions across categories, which keeps rewards embedded in everyday life rather than confined to the moment of purchase.
As a leading cashback platform operating across 13 markets globally, ShopBack selected Hong Kong as the first market worldwide for the launch of its co-branded credit card, reflecting the importance it places on the city’s consumer potential and digital commerce ecosystem.
Hong Kong remains one of ShopBack’s most strategically important markets in East Asia, with users demonstrating strong spending power and a strong appreciation for cashback rewards.
ShopBack’s user base in Hong Kong has already surpassed one million and is actively progressing towards its goal of reaching two million users by the end of the year.
Cahill Kei added,
“From our initial discussions to the official launch on 3 August 2026, the entire process took less than a year. That speed of execution is, in itself, the strongest endorsement of our decision to partner with Fubon Bank (Hong Kong).”
He further noted that ShopBack and Ricky Ng, Senior Vice President and Division Head of Digital Banking, Data & Payment Card Division at Fubon Bank (Hong Kong), together with his team, shared a high degree of alignment in three areas: gamified user experiences, digital development, and engagement with younger customer segments.
Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) has been committed to deepening its digital lifestyle ecosystem and providing innovative financial solutions for value-conscious and digitally savvy customers, making its customer profile highly compatible with ShopBack’s core user base.
The successful launch of the co-branded credit card in the third quarter of 2026, as planned, demonstrates the organisations’ outstanding cross-industry collaboration and strong execution capabilities.
“Fubon Bank (Hong Kong) is committed to delivering innovative digital banking and payment solutions that creates tangible value for customers. ShopBack’s strong user engagement and rewards-led ecosystem make this partnership a natural fit, enabling both organisations to deliver a more rewarding and seamless everyday spending experience,”
said Ricky Ng.
What comes next
“The direction is simple: rewards should not only appear when someone shops online. They should appear in every part of a user’s daily life,”
said Cahill Kei.
The co-branded card transforms ShopBack’s relationship with its users from a platform that people open only when they want to shop online into a tool that accompanies them every day. It evolves from an entry point to a habit.
At the same time, it extends the ecosystem from merchants directly to users. While ShopBack has traditionally focused on connecting merchants, this co-branded card enables it to become part of users’ everyday spending journeys.
Going forward, both parties will continue to expand reward-enabled use cases and engagement opportunities, enabling customers to convert everyday spending and interactions into meaningful rewards across an even broader range of lifestyle scenarios.
