    HKMA, HKSTP Announce Winners of IADS Developer Hackathon After 6-Month Programme

    Five finalist teams present data-sharing solutions aimed at advancing Hong Kong’s digital banking capabilities

    The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) on 27 March 2026 announced the winners of the Interbank Account Data Sharing (IADS) Developer Hackathon at the IADS Developer Conference, held at Hong Kong Science Park.

    The event concludes a six-month programme aimed at advancing the use of the IADS framework.

    Launched in October 2025, the hackathon brought together banks and fintech firms to develop customer-consented data-sharing solutions, with a focus on improving digital banking capabilities.

    Following a selection and mentorship process, five finalist teams presented their solutions to a judging panel.

    The winners of the 2026 IADS Developer Hackathon are:

    Champion

    vbiz Limited

    VBiz is designed by a team of local Hong Kong accountants, including qualified FCPA (Practising), ACA, and CPAA professionals with over 20 years of experience serving more than 3,000 clients. Drawing on a deep understanding of the challenges faced by Hong Kong SMEs, the platform was created to deliver AI-powered solutions that combine accurate bookkeeping, real-time insights, payments, and full compliance, tailored specifically for Hong Kong businesses.

    First Runner-up

    Mortify

    One consent. All banks. Under 5 minutes. Mortify leverages HKMA’s IADS framework to eliminate paperwork from mortgage applications, forever.

    Second Runner-up

    Fill Easy Limited

    With the rapid advancement of Gen AI, the prevalence of deepfake documents and identities is increasing. Fill Easy specialises in accessing government digital identities to conduct KYC, a fraud-free process guaranteed by governments and regulators worldwide, resulting in enhanced user experiences, increased data security, and zero fraud.

    “The IADS Developer Hackathon has served as a catalyst for innovation in the banking sector. It has been encouraging to see teams deliver practical solutions that open up new opportunities for financial services. Looking ahead, we will continue to strengthen collaboration with banks and fintech firms to support broader adoption of the IADS.”
