SBI Global Asset Management has brought its tokenised Japanese equity fund, JX, to HashKey Exchange in Hong Kong.
The licensed digital asset exchange offers the token through its HashKey Earn service.
Before this, qualified investors could only access JX through Singapore-based DigiFT, which began offering it on 14 July.
JX’s full name is the SBI Japan High Dividend Equity Strategy Token. It is a tokenised form of the SBI Japan High Dividend Equity Fund. SBI Asset Management, a subsidiary of the firm, runs the fund.
On HashKey Exchange, eligible qualified investors can subscribe for and redeem JX using USDC, a US dollar stablecoin.
The fund picks Japanese listed stocks based on dividends, earnings, financial strength, valuations and other factors.
It aims for total returns from dividend income and medium- to long-term capital gains.
The firm first announced JX on 15 July 2026 with DigiFT, a capital and business alliance partner of the SBI Group.
It said this launch is part of a plan to offer Japanese investment products on several digital platforms.
By widening its overseas investor base, the firm seeks growth in assets under management over the medium to long term.
Beyond JX, the firm will consider tokenising equities, bonds and money market funds for overseas markets.
It may also connect these products to yen and US dollar stablecoins, along with decentralised finance (DeFi).
These plans support the SBI Group’s goal of building what it calls a “Japan-originated on-chain capital market”.
