The Payment Cards Group (PCG), the Hong Kong firm behind A3A PayTech, has joined a new expert group set up by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).
The group will support the responsible use of agentic finance, where AI agents handle tasks such as payments for users.
Called the Agentic Finance Expert Group, the panel supports Project SAGE. The HKMA launched the project on 2 November at Hong Kong Fintech Week 2026.
The project, which stands for Securing Agentic Finance with Governance and Enablement, covers market development and use cases, agent identity, interoperability standards and the legal and regulatory framework.
For A3A, agentic finance is the next step in digital payments. Over the past ten years, the firm has built systems to take, process and settle payments.
It also offers card services. More recently, it has started to look at stablecoin settlement and AI systems for finance.
In the model A3A describes, businesses and people set the rules and limits. AI agents would then only take actions that fit within those limits.
Eventually, the firm said, AI agents could help with daily payments, buying, treasury work and payments between machines.
A3A added that such uses would still need identity checks, approvals, risk controls and human accountability.
