The Fintech Association of Hong Kong (FTAHK) has appointed Michele Fung, Head of APAC at Unlimit, as its new chair.
She succeeds Lareina Wang, who has completed the maximum two-year term and will remain on the board.
As chair, Fung intends to work more closely with committee co-chairs and members.
She also plans to expand partnerships across the Greater Bay Area and emerging markets as FTAHK approaches its tenth anniversary in 2027.
Fung has over a decade of executive experience in market entry, cross-border payments and partnership development.
At Unlimit, she leads regional expansion and builds partnerships with merchants and financial institutions.
Previously, she served as General Manager at LianLian Global, where she expanded the firm’s overseas presence.
Since September 2025, she has co-chaired FTAHK’s Digital Banking and Payments committee.
She will guide the board across three pillars of advocacy, collaboration and education.
The work includes pressing for proportionate and effective regulation, forming partnerships and running expert-led workshops.

“As our industry rapidly evolves, cross-border collaboration and regional integration are essential for sustainable growth,”
said Fung.
During the past year, FTAHK published six public consultation responses, including an AI position paper.
The association co-hosted two roundtables with the Financial Services Development Council.
It established the Digital Asset Integrity Forum for regulators, law enforcement and industry leaders.
In mainland China, FTAHK signed MoUs with industry bodies in Shenzhen, Beijing and Suzhou.
It led a Hong Kong delegation to the Asia Fintech Alliance Summit and Seoul Fintech Week.
Meanwhile, membership grew by over 130 in the 2025 to 2026 period.
FTAHK hosted or supported more than 50 events, connecting over 3,000 professionals.
