Futu Securities International (Hong Kong) has launched Korean stock trading for Hong Kong investors, giving users access to more than 2,700 listed equities across the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets on the Korea Exchange, along with pre-market auction session trading.

Sister brand Moomoo has rolled out the same service for investors in Singapore.

The launch follows South Korea’s Financial Services Commission issuing Omnibus Account Guidelines in November 2025, letting overseas brokers offer compliant access to Korean equities without requiring investors to open separate local accounts.

Futu said this builds on its earlier rollout of real-time Korean stock market data in April.

Investors can trade Korean stocks directly using existing US dollar balances, without converting to Korean won first, and can place orders before the Korean market opens through pre-market trading support.

The platform also supports advanced order types, including trailing stop-loss orders, plus AI-powered tools and investor education content aimed at helping non-Korean-speaking users navigate the market.

Daniel Tse, Managing Director of Futu Securities, called the launch another milestone in Futu’s product internationalisation strategy, noting that users can now trade Hong Kong, US, Singapore, Malaysian, mainland China, Japanese, and Korean equities, alongside ETFs and crypto, all on one platform.

Futu’s Expanding Regulatory Reach

Futu has expanded steadily since its founding in 2012.

The company holds more than 100 licences globally, says it is Hong Kong’s top retail brokerage by trading volume, and was listed on the Nasdaq in 2019.

It upgraded its Hong Kong securities licence last year to offer virtual asset trading to retail investors, and has built up a controlling 68.43% stake in Airstar Bank, a Hong Kong-licensed virtual bank.
