DBS has upgraded its credit card rewards programme in Hong Kong through a new integration with loyalty technology company Ascenda.
The partnership allows the bank’s customers to transfer their existing DBS$ reward points into various frequent traveller programmes to access accommodation-related travel rewards.
The partnership debuted in the Hong Kong market on 27 April. This launch marks the first phase of a broader planned rollout across the bank’s other regional markets.
Connecting DBS directly to Ascenda’s global loyalty ecosystem caters to increasing consumer demand for flexible travel and lifestyle rewards.
The backend integration gives the bank a streamlined way to expand its digital offerings without building bespoke rewards infrastructure from scratch.

“The partnership with Ascenda unlocks choice and value for our customers, empowering them to redeem their points in ways that best suit their lifestyles,”
said Ajay Mathur, Head of Consumer Banking Group and Wealth Management, DBS Hong Kong.
Paul Smitton, President International at Ascenda, noted that the collaboration supports the bank’s growth in Hong Kong and regionally.

“This partnership reflects our mandate to deliver outsized impact for major financial institutions globally,”
said Smitton.
