Hang Seng Investment has announced the retirement of Rosita Lee as Chief Executive Officer, effective 30 January, following more than two decades with the organisation.

Lee’s tenure coincided with a period of steady development for the company. Her leadership spanned multiple market cycles and contributed to the strengthening of Hang Seng Investment’s operations and governance.

William Wong has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Lee in the role. He joins Hang Seng Investment with more than 30 years of international experience across Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan and the UK.

His career spans banking, securities, asset management and public accounting.

Prior to joining Hang Seng Investment, Wong held senior leadership roles including Group Chief Financial Officer and Management Committee member at China International Capital Corporation. He also served as Asia Pacific Chief Operating Officer at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

His professional background includes business development, distribution, strategy, finance, risk management and operations.

Wong began his career at KPMG in the UK and Hong Kong. He later joined HSBC as Financial Manager in capital markets, money and foreign exchange markets in Hong Kong.

He has built and managed businesses across a range of markets, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, India, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia and Australia.

His work has involved close engagement with stakeholders across different regulatory and cultural environments.

Wong is a certified accountant and has been a member of both the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales for over 30 years.

He holds a first-class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol.
