Wonder, a payment and fintech platform, has announced its partnership as the purported first omnichannel payment facilitator for Octopus Cards Limited (Octopus) in Hong Kong on 10 June 2025. The Wonder and Octopus partnership aims to enable offline and online Octopus acceptance via Wonder’s payment terminal and digital platform.

Merchants will be able to deploy Octopus, along with over 30 other payment methods, through Wonder’s Know Your Customer (KYC) onboarding process, and have all merchant fund settlements occur directly via Wonder’s platform.

Through the Wonder and Octopus partnership, merchants, regardless of size or industry, will also be apparently able to onboard faster, effectively manage their finances, and accept Octopus payments easily.

Jason Ngan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wonder, said,

“Since our strategic partnership began in early 2025, we have seen strong adoption momentum, and we look forward to working closely with Octopus to further expand acceptance and bring smarter, faster, and more effortless payment experiences to businesses and consumers in Hong Kong.”

Tim Ying, Chief Executive Officer of Octopus, added,

Octopus’ application covers online and mobile payment segments, with solutions such as Octopus on iPhones and Apple watches, Octopus on Samsung Pay, Octopus Wallet, the Octopus App and more.

Wonder, on the other hand, enables merchants, from nano-businesses to MNCs, to pay and get paid seamlessly. It claims to allow merchants to digitally complete their KYC onboarding in minutes and manage their transactions via a singular platform.

Wonder’s key products include the Wonder App, Wonder Terminal, Wonder Dashboard and more.
