Brad Jones has stepped down as CEO of PayMe by HSBC, effective 23 May 2025, after two years in leading one of Hong Kong’s most widely used digital wallets.

Jones joined PayMe by HSBC in mid-2023, he shared in a LinkedIn post announcing his departure. He also highlighted several key achievements during his tenure, including the launch of the PayMe UnionPay virtual card and an over 50% increase in the PayMe by HSBC merchant network, which now extends to Hong Kong taxis.

Looking ahead, Jones will join the Advisory Board of Peppermint Innovation Limited, starting in August 2025.

Peppermint Innovation Limited is a financial services provider in the Philippines, focused on mobile payments, e-commerce, delivery and logistics, and mobile financial services. Its focus is on financial inclusion for the underbanked and unbanked.

As part of his new advisory role, Jones will be collaborating with Peppermint Innovation Limited’s key figures, including Christopher Kain, Anthony Kain, and Neal Cross, the latter of whom was the former CIO for DBS Bank.

Jones brings extensive experience in digital finance across Asia. He was previously the founding CEO of Wave Money, a joint venture between Yoma Strategic Holdings, Frontiir, and Yoma Bank, which provides digital financial services in Myanmar.

Brad Jones has also served as a non-executive director on the boards of Telenor Myanmar Limited, First Finance Cambodia, and the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar.
