Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) announced the appointment of Johnson Chui as Managing Director, Head of Global Issuer Services.

He takes over from Christina Bao, Co-Head of Sales and Marketing, who is departing HKEX after eight years to pursue other opportunities.

Chui will assume his new role on 2 September 2024 and will report jointly to HKEX Co-Heads of Markets, Wilfred Yiu and Glenda So.

Chui will lead HKEX’s Global Issuer Services teams across Hong Kong, Mainland China, London, and Singapore, driving the group’s efforts to further diversify and expand its listed issuer base.

Prior to joining HKEX, Chui was Managing Director, Vice Chairman of Investment Banking, and Head of Equity Capital Markets for Asia ex-Japan at Nomura.

He also held senior roles at Credit Suisse, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs.

Wilfred Yiu, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Co-Chief Operating Officer and Co-Head of Markets, HKEX said,

“With more than 25 years of experience working in international capital markets, we know that Johnson will be a great addition to our leadership team and will help us to reinforce HKEX’s position as a leading global exchange with issuers.
