Senior Manager/Director, Group Strategy

Purpose
A full-time position for a Senior Manager/Director at FWD Insurance based in Hong Kong.
- Drive the corporate strategy development process and long-term strategic initiatives to ensure the group and business units deliver FWD vision
- Identify functional/ market opportunities by analysing data and support strategic initiatives that will drive growth and profitability in the business
- Serves as a business partner to functional heads at Group level and business unit to drive delivery of strategic targets / projects
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and drive the corporate strategy development process and collaborate with functional heads at Group level and business unit to develop strategy and strategic initiatives that support the delivery of group vision
- Support the overall project management of corporate strategy development process by identifying dependencies, next steps, project risks while ensuring all deadlines are delivered on time
- Drive the formulation and execution of business strategy (e.g. strategy localisation, target operating model and governance model) by working closely with all functional heads at Group level and business unit
- Work on strategic or transformation projects that deliver tangible and sustainable results to the business and create innovative strategies to solve key business problems
- Work or work closely with team members for market intelligence including competitor tracking, benchmarking and industry analysis as and when needed
- Managing external vendors; engaging and teaming up with consulting firms as and when needed
Qualifications / experience
- 10 -15 years relevant working experience for candidates from inhouse insurance strategy, and/or in a leading management consultancy firm. Candidate with less year's of experience will be considered at Senior Manager grade.
- Strong intellect, intellectual curiosity and ability to deal with complex and ambiguous situations
- Strong finance and analytical skills, for which a Masters Degree in Corporate Finance, Strategy or Business Administration or similar discipline will be an advantage
- Ability to coordinate and work with internal stakeholders with limited guidance
Knowledge & technical skills
- Knowledge and experience across Asian insurance markets required
- Understanding of insurance related business and financial metrics
- Strong strategic, analytical, accounting, and corporate finance skills
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative in nature to work with internal and external parties
- Independent and innovative thinker
