In search of a capable and motivated Head of Settlement, our company aims to entrust the leadership of our settlement operations team based in Hong Kong. The selected candidate will shoulder the pivotal responsibility of overseeing and directing all facets of settlement activities. Their primary focus will be on ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and strict adherence to regulatory standards within our settlement processes. A successful appointment to this role will be characterized by a profound grasp of settlement operations and a demonstrated track record of effectively managing teams to achieve high levels of performance.
- Manage the operations team and oversee all settlement activities, including remittance and payments etc.
- Identify and manage settlement-related risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including bank partners, payment processors, and clearing agents
- Oversee the reconciliation of trades, positions, and balances between internal systems and external sources
- Ensure the timely and accurate settlement of all trades, including across multiple currencies and jurisdictions
- Collaborate with other departments, including product, engineering, and compliance, to ensure seamless settlement operations and accurate reporting
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in settlement operations, with 3 years in a leadership role in a payments or financial services company
- Strong knowledge of settlement processes, treasury and payment products and systems.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to settlement operations, including GDPR, and AML/KYC regulations
- Proven track record of managing high-performing settlement teams and implementing operational improvements in a payments or financial services company
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage risks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Fluent spoken and written Cantonese and English
