At the start of Hong Kong FinTech Week on 31st October, the HKSAR Government made a policy statement showing a more open approach to FinTech development and the digital assets industry. Prof. Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, also made a speech on Hong Kong poising to scale new heights in FinTech innovation by combining a range of forward-looking initiatives and support from different stakeholders. On the other hand, the volatile digital-asset sector, presenting plenty of growth opportunities and still a new, complex and fast-moving market, is currently facing some setbacks.
