InvestHK Teases a Bigger and Better Hong Kong Fintech Week 2019

Anticipating to pull in a larger audience than last year’s 8,000 attendees, the agency stated they needed to host the event in a bigger venue. Hong Fintech Week 2019 now in its fourth year will be held at AsiaWorld Expo from the 4th to the 8th of November and is expected to feature a larger variety of programmmes.
Recent initiatives by the HKMA will ranging from the issuance of 3 virtual banking licenses, open API framework and the launch of the Faster Payments System will likely attract more international players to consider Hong Kong as a base and events like Hong Kong Fintech Week 2019 often serves as a good starting point for players to get a sense of the market.
In 2018, it had a record number of attendees from more than 50 economies. Over 260 speakers shared their vision, including top executives from Ant Financial, Tencent, Xiaomi, WeBank, WeSure, Ping An, Lufax, Yunfeng, ZhongAn Insurance, PayPal, Grab Financial, Revolut, Starling Bank, Tinkoff Bank, and our colleague from Fintech News Malaysia.
